Soft sugar…

A hair there and a hair there… completely natural and normal. However, sometimes hairs grow in places where you don't want them. What is the most natural way to remove hair from places you shouldn't talk about? Well sugaring of course! The best part is that it is suitable for all types of hair and skin.

Sugaring is a natural and painless method of removing annoying hair from the skin. Sugar can be used to remove hair as short as less than 2 mm in length. However, the best and most consistent result is obtained when the hair is so long that you can grab it with your fingers.

If you're new to sugaring, it might sound hard, crunchy, and grainy, right? Fortunately, it's not that, but sugar is a soft and stretchy mass with a texture that removes hair in the same way as in waxing.

- We use 100% natural sugar. It does not contain generally allergenic substances, and it has not been tested on animals, says SKY cosmetologist Mia Edelman-Kokkonen from Pinjam.

Hairs are removed in the direction of their growth, thanks to which they do not break and the skin remains hairless for longer. Sugar also does not stick to living skin cells, which means that hair can be safely and gently removed from intimate areas as well.

Is sugaring really painless?

Sugaring is done as gently as possible. Sugar is not hot, it does not burn the skin or cause scars. The more regular it is to sugar, the easier and more pleasant it is. This is because less hair grows back after each removal and they also come off more easily.

- The reduction of hair is caused by the shrinking of the hair follicle, which is why each subsequent growing hair is thinner than the previous one. In the end, it may be that the hair follicle no longer produces hair at all, says Mia Edelman-Kokkonen.

- Regular visit means sugaring every 3-6 weeks, depending on the subject to be sugared, Mia Edelman-Kokkonen continues.

When sugaring is done for the first time, the hair follicles have been in place for a long time and have grown tight. So, the first sugaring may be a little more uncomfortable for some than for others, but you shouldn't panic and leave it at once, because it will really be easier the next time!

- Of course, the more sensitive the skin area is, if for example Brazilian sugaring is done, the skin may momentarily feel pain, but luckily it's over quickly and there are no after-effects! Except for the soft and smooth skin, says Mia Edelman-Kokkonen.

Between sugaring sessions, you should not shave the hair yourself, so that they remain soft and the removal is even more painless the following times.

What is brass?

Have you heard of brass? It is an abbreviation of Brazilian sugaring, which means sugaring of the intimate area.

In Brass, all the skin hair is removed from the intimate area, i.e. the lower end, or a stripe can be left on the pubic mound. In this sugaring, skin hair is also removed from between the buttocks.

Sugaring is really hygienic, so you don't have to worry about handling the intimate area.

There is also no harm in sugaring the intimate area during menstruation. Many people use a tampon or a menstrual cup when they come to sugar. And the discharge is usually not abundant in the lying position, especially in such a short time as the sugaring is done.

- The intimate area is a very personal area of the body. However, we are professionals and have seen everything, so there is no need to be embarrassed, Mia Edelman-Kokkonen encourages.

The benefits of sugaring

With the help of sugaring, hair can be reduced and weakened even in areas where you don't want them to grow. It is also much more effective than waxing.

Thanks to the sugar, hair growth slows down and the hair becomes soft. Of course, it will grow back, but less frequently and without the stinging stubble.

- Sugaring is also the best body exfoliation method. Using the right technique, sugaring also removes dead skin cells from the skin, says Mia Edelman-Kokkonen.

Between sugaring sessions, peeling at home is also recommended. It softens the skin and prevents ingrown hairs. And of course, you also have to remember to moisturize your skin.
